When you initiate an action in Outlook that creates a connection to your SMTP e-mail server, such as sending mail, you may receive one of the following error messages depending on your e-mail server:
Server Response: '250 TLS: (Account: '<account name>', SMTP Server '<account name>,' Error Number: 0x800ccc7d).
Server Response: '554 Unable to initialize security subsystem'. (Account: '<account name>', SMTP Server: '<account name>', Error Number: 0x800ccc6f).
In your account settings you have set your SMTP e-mail server to use a secure connection, and your server does not support secure connections.
To turn off secure connections by your SMTP e-mail server:
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
On the Mail tab, click to select the account listed in the error message, and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, for your Outgoing mail (SMTP), click to clear This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box.
Click OK, and Close.
