You deploy multiple computers that are running the same version of Exchange Server in a Unified Communications environment.
You install the update that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 978008 on a computer that is running Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 R2.
In this scenario, the network traffic on the Unified Messaging servers may be higher than usual.
This issue occurs because the update that is described in KB article 978008 changes an algorithm in OCS 2007 R2. This algorithm determines which Exchange Servers to use. Therefore, OCS 2007 R2 may no longer distribute the network traffic load evenly.
To fix this problem, install the following cumulative update:
983472 Description of cumulative update for Office Communications Server 2007 R2: July, 2010
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
