A network adapter that has a Japanese device description is not displayed in the route table on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008

Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
  • You have a network adapter installed on the computer. The device description of the network adapter is Japanese.
  • You print the route table by using the route print command.
In this scenario, the network adapter is not shown in the route table.
Cause
This issue occurs because Route.exe does not set a locale when the route table is printed. Therefore, the Japanese characters are not shown in the route table.
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
