When you try to install a program that uses InstallShield, you may receive the following error message:
The Decompression of %s failed. There may not be enough free disk space.
Also, you may receive this error message even if you have sufficient free disk space on the destination drive.
This issue can occur if your Windows\TEMP folder is damaged.
To resolve this issue, perform the following steps one at a time, testing to determine if the issue is resolved after each step, and if it is, do not perform the remaining steps:
Rename the Windows\TEMP folder to OLDTEMP, and then create a new Windows\TEMP folder. To rename a file or folder, right-click the file or folder, type the new name, and then press ENTER. To create a new folder in the Windows folder, open the Windows folder, right-click in the Windows folder, point to New, click Folder, type the new folder name, and then press ENTER.
If a TEMP folder exists in the root folder of drive C, rename the folder OLDTEMP. If a TEMP folder does not exist in the root folder of drive C, make a TEMP folder in the root folder of drive C.
Move the TEMP folder from the root folder of drive C into the Windows folder on drive C.
