Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, multi-environment plug-in that delivers the next generation of Microsoft .NET–based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the web.
This article describes an update (version 4.0.50917.0) that fixes an incompatibility issue between Silverlight 4 general distribution release (GDR) 1 (version 4.0.50826.0) and earlier versions of the Bing Toolbar. The current release of Bing Toolbar (version 6) is not affected. This update is released on September 28, 2010.
This update is included in current Silverlight installers. If your computer does not have Microsoft Silverlight installed, this update will be offered by Microsoft Update or by Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). To install this update, obtain it from one of the following sources:
