When you attempt to update a row in a table that contains a multi-column foreign key, and one of the columns making up the foreign key contains a null value, you will receive the following error message:
Server: Msg 547, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 UPDATE statement conflicted with TABLE FOREIGN KEY constraint '<foreign key constraint name>'. The conflict occurred in database '<database name>', table '<table name>'. The statement has been terminated.
Replace the UPDATE with a DELETE and an INSERT.
