In addition to the operating systems that are listed in the "applies to" section, this update addresses the vulnerabilities in the initial release of Service Pack 1 Beta for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2 (described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 976932). Specifically, versions 7601.17104 and 17105 of the Service Pack 1 Beta are affected. More recent versions of the Service Pack 1 Beta do not contain these vulnerabilities. Customers who are running these newer versions will not be offered the security update, and the security update will not install successfully on unaffected versions.
