Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You run an application that uses Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010.
-
A DB2 connection string is created in the application by using any of the following properties:
-
ClientAccounting
-
ClientWorkstationName
-
ClientUserID
-
-
You enable the connection pooling in the DB2 data provider.

You change the value for any of these three properties.
In this scenario, the data provider does not use a connection that is already open and that is in the connection pool. Therefore, the data provider incorrectly creates a new connection.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix, you must have Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 installed.
Restart information
You may have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time.
