Issues that this hotfix package fixes


  • You may experience the following issues in Microsoft Office Word 2007:
    • Office Word 2007 crashes when you try to create new documents from a template that uses ActiveX controls.
    • You create and save a new document that uses several ActiveX controls as a template in Office Word 2007. Then, you create and save a new document from the template by selecting certain ActiveX controls. You open the document again. In this situation, you notice that the ActiveX controls which are not selected are displayed as duplicates in the document.

    Note
    The issues only occur after you apply the hotfix package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2251419.

  • When you scroll a Word document or resize a Word document window in Microsoft Office Word 2007, you experience high CPUusage. Additionally, the Word application stops responding.
  • When you use the Word converter to save a .doc file as a .docx file, tracked changes for a numbered list are incorrect.
  • When you use a screen reader to select text in a document, the text in a table may appear unreadable. 
  • Assume that you compare and merge documents in Office Word 2007. After you save and close the result document, the Document::Name property or the Document::FullName property that is passed to the Application::DocumentBeforeClose event is incorrect.
  • Assume that you open an email message. When you open the AutoCorrect options dialog box, you experience high CPU usage.
  • When you click Insert from File to insert a file that contains an inline shape picture, a grouped picture, or a picture on a drawing canvas, the images are not inserted.
  • When a computer resumes from hibernation, Office Word 2007 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 may stop responding.
  • Assume that you have a document that contains a picture and the document is protected by a password. When you open the document as read-only, the picture is missing.
  • 2447674 The top of the superscripted letters and the bottom of the subscripted letters in a table that is contained in a Word 2007 file are cut off when you print the file or convert it to a PDF or XPS file

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
