In Microsoft Project, when you open a project, the Links Between Projects dialog box may unexpectedly be displayed.
This behavior occurs when you open a project that has external predecessor or successor links, and one or more of the external tasks has changed, so that tasks in the project you are opening are rescheduled.

In addition, this behavior may occur when you open a project and the following conditions are true:
  • The project that you are opening contains an external predecessor or successor.
  • The external predecessor/successor relationship was created when this project was closed.
n the Links Between Projects dialog box, select the task that shows the differences, and then click Accept. Repeat for any tasks that show differences. When complete, click Close.
