Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You install the traditional Chinese edition of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and of Microsoft SQL Server PowerPivot for SharePoint on a computer.

  • You install the traditional Chinese edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services (SSRS 2008 R2).

  • You configure SSRS 2008 R2 to run in the SharePoint integrated mode.

  • You upload a PowerPivot workbook to the PowerPivot gallery, and then you click Generate Report Builder Report to start Report Builder 3.0.

  • You run the Matrix Wizard in the Report Builder 3.0, and then you try to connect to the PowerPivot workbook as the data source.

In this scenario, you cannot connect to the PowerPivot workbook, and you receive the following error message:

Cannot connect to data source '*.xlsx'

Additionally, the PowerPivot Web service returns the following error message:

Cannot redirect the request to PowerPivot for SharePoint server. Internal error occurred. Please check SharePoint log to get the detailed information or contact server administrator.

Also, the following error message is logged in the Unified Logging Service (ULS) log:

EXCEPTION: System.ArgumentException: invalid CRLF character in the value. Argument name: value at System.Net.WebHeaderCollection.CheckBadChars(String name, Boolean isHeaderValue) at System.net.WebHeaderCollection.Set(String name, String value) at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration.Redirector.RedirectService.RedirectRequest(Stream inStream)
