Summary

This article describes the Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 30, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a keyword that is not in the FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint index.

    • You define a synonym for the keyword in the index.

    • You perform a search based on the keyword in a team site.

In this scenario, no search results are returned.

  • Assume that you add many managed properties to a FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint system. In this situation, the system cannot index content on the SharePoint website.

  • Assume that you set the Locale option to United Kingdom on the Regional Settings page on a FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint system. When you perform an advanced search for a datetime managed property, no search results are returned. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

Your query is malformed. Please rephrase your query.

  • The FAST Search database connector does not generate a multivalue property for single items.

  • This hotfix package enables you to configure certain parameters in the configuration file. You can configure these parameters to speed up feeding with the FAST Search database connector. The parameters that you can configure in the configuration file are as follows:

    • FASTSearchSubmit/MaxBatchSize(KB)
    • FASTSearchSubmit/MaxDocsInBatch
    • FASTSearchSubmit/MaxActiveDocuments(MB)
    • ConnectorExecution\ThreadSampleInterval
  • The FAST Search database connector stops responding when you feed a Lotus Notes document note on a FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint server. This issue specifically occurs when multiple attachments on the document note have the same name.

  • The FAST Search database connector stops responding when you feed a Lotus Notes document note on a FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint server. This issue specifically occurs when the name of an attachment on the document note contains more than 225 characters.
