FIX: Text is truncated from the DTExec.exe output log file when WshShell.Exec is called if the StdOut stream is redirected

Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS 2008), Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services (SSIS 2008 R2), or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Integration Services (SSIS 2012)on a computer.
  • You redirect the StdOut stream of the Dtexec.exe utility to a log file.
  • An application calls the WshShell.Exec method to run Dtexec.exe that runs some SSIS 2008 packages.

In this scenario, the text of Dtexec.exe output log file is truncated when the SSIS 2008, the SSIS 2008 R2 and the SSIS 2012 packages run. The packages run successfully.
Cause
This issue occurs because Dtexec.exe cannot flush the StdOut stream.
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
