Why can't I use the "Add to Favorites" button in Internet Explorer 9 (Easy Fix Article)

Scenario Description
After upgrading to Internet Explorer 9, why is IE not responding after I click "Favorites" icon and press "Add to Favorites" button? This makes me unable to add webpages to "Favorites". How can I resolve the issue? This issue is usually caused by the failure in Internet Explorer 9. Just by follwing the steps below to reset your your Internet Explorer 9, the issue should be resolved.

First, close Internet Explorer 9, and then click the "Start" button, type inetcpl.cpl, when done, click the Enter key on the keyboard.





Click the "Advanced" tab, click "Reset".





Check "Delete personal settings" and then click "Reset".





When done, click "Close" button, and then restart your Internet Explorer 9.
