Active Directory schema attributes are cleared after you disable a user’s mailbox in an Exchange Server 2010 environment

SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
  • A user is in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment.
  • The user has certain phonetic attributes that begin with msDS-Phonetic in Active Directory schema attributes.
  • You disable the user’s mailbox.
In this scenario, the following phonetic attributes are cleared unexpectedly:
  • msDS-PhoneticCompanyName
  • msDS-PhoneticDepartment
  • msDS-PhoneticFirstName
  • msDS-PhoneticLastName
