Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use Microsoft Management Console (MMC) in a Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 environment to configure a Web Listener.

  • You enable the listener to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) on the Connections tab.

  • You select a valid SSL certificate on the Certificates tab.


In this scenario, the MMC may incorrectly display the following warning message on the Certificates tab:

The Web Listener is not configured to use SSL. To use SSL, select the option from the Connections tab.


Note This warning message may be displayed even when everything is configured correctly.

Cause

This problem occurs because the MMC incorrectly determines that SSL is not enabled and displays the warning message.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the hotfix package that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

2649961 Rollup 1 for Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 Service Pack 2

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
