Error message when you use Internet Explorer 9 to browse a webpage that uses the dialogArguments property for the showModalDialog method: "Permission denied"

SYMPTOMS
Consider a scenario in which you have a webpage that implements the following functions:
  • An object is passed to the showModalDialog method by using the dialogArguments property.
  • The object is changed in the modal window.
  • The modal window is then closed.

In this scenario, if you browse the webpage by using Windows Internet Explorer 9, you cannot access the changed object in the parent window. Additionally, you receive a "Permission denied" error message in the console.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install the update that is described in this section.
