Delegates can't schedule a Lync online meeting in Office 365 Dedicated or ITAR
- The Enterprise voice user (delegator) has not added the delegate in Outlook and Lync.
- A non-Enterprise voice user (delegator) has not added the delegate in Outlook.
- The Lync clients of non-Enterprise voice users (delegator) cannot communicate with Outlook through MAPI.
Enterprise voice userThe delegator must add the delegate in Outlook and Lync. In Outlook, make sure that the user has at least Editor permissions to the Calendar. For information about how to add a delegate in Outlook, see Allow someone else to manage your mail and calendar.
To add a user as a Lync delegate, follow these steps:
- In the Lync or Skype for Business client, locate Options > Call Forwarding.
- Click Edit my delegate members, and then add the intended users.
Note If the Call Forwarding tab is unavailable, make sure that the user has Enterprise Voice provisioned correctly.
Non-Enterprise voice users
- The delegator must have configured their mail profile in Outlook. If more than one account is configured in Outlook, the delegator's account must be set as the default.
- The delegator must use a computer that's running Windows, because the Lync client has to connect to Outlook through MAPI to read the delegate settings.
Make sure that the Lync client can connect through MAPI. To do this, hold down the CTRL key while you right-click the Lync/Skype for Business icon, and then select Configuration Information. MAPI Information should be displayed as MAPI Status OK.
If this isn't displayed as expected, investigate why the client can't connect through MAPI.
- With Outlook and the Lync or Skype for Business client open, the delegator should add the intended delegate to Outlook. (Make sure that the delegate has at least Editor permissions.) For information about how to add a delegate in Outlook, see Allow someone else to manage your mail and calendar. After the delegate is added, the delegator must sign out and then sign back in to the Lync or Skype for Business client.
- Make sure that the session initiation protocol (SIP) address on the delegate's ProxyAddress attribute in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) matches the SIP address in the delegate's msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress attribute.
- Contact Microsoft Online Services Support by online submission or by telephone.
- Provide the following items to Microsoft Online Services Support
- Screen shots of the error message
- Client log files — all files in the tracing directory of the delegator and delegate
- Output of the configuration information from the delegator’s client
