When installing a System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) server using an account from a different domain (this can be any domain with which you have a full two way transitive trust), the installation will fail stating "Setup cannot be completed. There is no such object on the server" along with hex code 0x80072030.
SetupWizard.log shows the following exception:
02:56:44:VMMPostinstallProcessor threw an exception: Threw Exception.Type: System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException, Exception.Message: There is no such object on the server.

02:56:44:ProcessInstalls: Running the PostProcessDelegate for PangaeaServer failed.... This is a fatal item. Setting rollback.
02:56:44:SetProgressScreen: FinishMinorStep.02:56:44:ProcessInstalls: Rollback is set and we are not doing an uninstall so we will stop processing installs
This occurs because the Distributed Key Management configuration fails while running under the user context from a different domain.
Install the VMM server using an account in the same domain as the computer account for the server where VMM is being installed.
