Description of the Word 2007 hotfix package (Word-x-none.msp, Wordconv-x-none.msp): June 26, 2012

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Office Word 2007 hotfix package that is dated June 26, 2012.

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you install the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2512785 on your computer. Additionally, assume that you click a hyperlink in a Word document to go to a different page in the document or to go to a different document in Word 2007. When you press the Alt key and the left arrow key, you are returned to the original document. However, you receive the following error message:
    An unexpected error has occurred.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have a Word 2007 document that contains some comments and a shape at the bottom of a page.
    • You select the Force Landscape option in Track Changes Options.
    • You scale the document to print on a paper size that is larger than the document itself.
    • You print the document.
    In this scenario, the shape is not displayed in the printout.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have the 2007 Microsoft Office system and Microsoft Lync 2010 installed on your computer. However, Word 2007 is not installed on the computer.
    • You create an online meeting, and then you delete the meeting in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
    • You create another online meeting.
    In this scenario, Outlook 2007 crashes.
  • Assume that you insert a table of contents (TOC) field that uses the \u switch. The \u switch can be used to apply the paragraph outline level on the TOC field in a Word 2007 document. Additionally, assume that you change the paragraph outline level to Body Text so that a paragraph is hidden in the TOC field, and you update the TOC field. In this situation, the paragraph is displayed unexpectedly.
  • Assume that you add a text box or a shape that contains text to the first paragraph of a document in Word 2007. Additionally, assume that you insert a bookmark at the beginning of the first paragraph, and then you save the document as a .docx file. When you close and reopen the file, the bookmark is lost.
  • When you drag an email message that has more than 170 characters in the subject line to a Word 2007 document, the operation fails. Additionally, you do not receive an error messages.
  • When you try to export part of a Word 2007 document as a non-xml format file such as a Rich Text Format (RTF) file, you receive the following error message in a Microsoft Visual Basic dialog box:
    Run-time error '5843':
    One of the values passed to this method or property is out of range.
