Description of the Word 2007 hotfix package (Wordconv-x-none.msp, Word-x-none.msp): August 28, 2012

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Office Word 2007 hotfix package that is dated August 28, 2012.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you insert a Math-Type equation at the midpoint of the baseline of some text in Word 2007. Additionally, assume that you save the document as a .docx file and then open the document. When you move the position of the cursor to the right side of the equation, the cursor moves automatically to the line below the text.

Note When you save the document as a .doc file, the cursor does not move automatically to the line below the text.

  • Assume that you save a document that contains comments as an XPS or PDF file in Word 2007. When you change the orientation of the document and then view the print preview of the document, the whole document is not displayed.

  • When you use a custom citation that uses the XSL format in Word 2007, you cannot apply superscript and subscript formatting to text.

  • When a Word 2007 document (.doc file) contains many embedded images, the Activedocument.TransformDocument function in an .xslt file in Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications cannot locate the embedded images in the .doc file.

Note This issue does not occur when the document uses the .docx format.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You add a bookmark to the top of the page in a Word 2007 document.
    • You add a text box to the document in a location other than the top of the page.
    • You save the document as a .docx file.
    • You close and then reopen the document.
In this scenario, the bookmark is in a different location from the one that you set.

  • When you insert a second form field in a Word 2007 document without adding a space or a paragraph between the two form fields, the bookmark property of the form field that you inserted is lost.
