Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) fix release.

Symptoms

When you use the SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters static method in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 in order to retrieve parameter information from a common language runtime (CLR) SQL Server stored procedure, an exception occurs. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled
Message="The stored procedure 'StoredProcedureName' doesn't exist."
Source="System.Data"

Cause

This issue occurs because a specific system stored procedure cannot return any information when you use the SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters static method to retrieve parameter information from a CLR SQL Server stored procedure.
