Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device.
-
The run-time image of the device is located on a Binary Rom Image File System (BinFS)-formatted partition.
-
The run-time image includes some graphic components.
-
You set the COMPRESSION flag to OFF in the CONFIG section of the Config.bib file as follows:
CONFIG
COMPRESSION=OFF -
You try to start the device.
In this scenario, the display does not start on the device.
Cause
This issue occurs because the kernel tries to read an incorrect number of bytes from the "Extended Uncompressed XIP" section. Therefore, the graphics components are not loaded.

Prerequisites
This update is supported only if all previous updates for this product are installed.
Restart requirement
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.

On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
Update replacement information
This update does not replace any other updates.
