The Exchange 2000 Server information store may stop responding (crash) unexpectedly while processing replication messages for the public folders. The stack trace is similar to the following:

This problem can occur because the Exchange 2000 information store stops responding when the information store tries to process public folders rules on a message that has a NULL security descriptor.
