Summary

This article describes the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 11, 2013.

INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use Microsoft InfoPath 2010 to customize a List form in a Microsoft SharePoint site.

  • The List form contains a rich text field that uses the Multiple Lines of Text option.

  • You publish the custom List form to the site, and then you update an item in the list 50 times.

In this situation, when you try to open an existing item, you receive the following error message:

There has been an error while loading the form.

Additionally, the following error is logged in the SharePoint ULS log:

Unhandled exception when rendering form System.Xml.XmlException: An XML error has occurred.

When you check the HTML source code of the rich text field, you find that a <div> tag is nested for each update that exceeds the maximum depth limit of 100 for the form.
