Access encounters multiple issues if the PC has been running more than 20 days

Symptoms
Assume that the machine you are running Access on has been running more than 20 days. In this scenario, you may run into one or more issues.

1. Access may consume excessive CPU resources.

2. Background tasks do not execute. For instance, domain functions (dlookup, dsum, dcount, etc) will not display a value.
Cause
This is a known issue in Microsoft Access.
Resolution
Hotfixes have been created for Access 2010 and 2013 to prevent these issues. Further details can be found in their respective articles below.
