Users cannot hear ring-back tone for outbound calls through PSTN in Lync for Mac 2011
Consider the following scenario:
- An Enterprise Voice-enabled user signs in to Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 in a Lync Server 2010 environment.
- The user calls a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) number.
- The early media on the PSTN gateway is turned off in the environment.
In this scenario, even though the phone that is receiving the call is ringing, the caller cannot hear a ring-back tone.
This issue occurs because a local ring-back tone is not generated when the caller makes an outbound call through PSTN in Lync for Mac 2011.
To resolve the issue, install the following cumulative update:
