FIX: Report Builder 3.0 may close unexpectedly when you search an attribute in Query Designer in SQL Server

This hotfix also applies to Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS 2012) and SQL Server 2014 Reporting Services (SSRS 2014).
Consider the following scenario:
  • You use the Query Designer in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Builder 3.0, SQL Server 2012 Report Builder, or SQL Server 2012 Report Builder to edit a report model query.
  • You click the Search icon on the Query Designer to find an attribute.
  • You input a search string in the Search text box that returns a large result set.
  • You select Entire data source as the search range.
  • You double-click one record of the search result or you click one record of the search result and then click OK to add the attribute field to the query.
In this scenario, Report Builder may close unexpectedly.
