Can’t join an online meeting through a proxy server that only supports basic authentication in Lync 2010
This issue occurs in the following scenario:
- You sign in to Microsoft Lync 2010 in an organization that has a proxy server deployed, and the proxy server only supports basic authentication.
- A Lync 2010 user in a non-federated organization sends you an invitation for an online meeting.
- You try to join the meeting.
Note To join the meeting, you must access the Internet through the proxy server.
To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
Description of the cumulative update package for Lync 2010: October 2013
This issue occurs because Lync 2010 does not prompt the user to input credentials for the proxy server.
To work around this issue, you must use a proxy server that supports NTLM authentication.
