This article describes a hotfix package that contains the latest hotfixes for Microsoft Application Virtualization 5.0 Service Pack 1 (App-V 5.0 SP1).
Note This hotfix package is applicable only for the App-V 5.0 SP1 Client deployments.
Note We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new hotfix release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous update package. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent fix release that contains the most necessary hotfixes.
This hotfix package fixes the following issue.
When you deploy the client package for Microsoft Application Virtualization 5.0 Service Pack 1, the package is not installed on the client computer. Additionally, messages are logged that indicate that an incorrect path is being accessed.
This problem occurs when the PackageSourceRoot setting is more than two levels deep, as in the following example:
To resolve this problem, apply this hotfix package and then restart the client before you deploy packages that have the PackageSourceRoot setting more than two levels deep.
Important If the PackageSourceRoot setting should only be updated when the Application Virtualization client service is stopped. Updating this while the Application Virtualization client service is running may still cause the problem to occur.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Note The "Hotfix download available" form displays the languages for which the hotfix is available. If you do not see your language, it is because a hotfix is not available for that language.
To apply this hotfix, you must have Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Application Virtualization 5.0 installed.
You must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
To work around this problem, update the PackageSourceRoot setting so that it contains no more than two levels, as in the following example:

If the original client was deployed by using the .msi file, the .msp file must be applied for a successful update. You can extract the .msp file by using the following command:
