A distributed query that is run against the CIndex OLE-DB provider from Optika Inc. may return incorrect results when the WHERE clause contains a filter condition on a datetime column. The nature of the incorrect results is that no results are returned when results are expected.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 2000.
