The Projector Wizard is missing from the Set Up Show dialog box in PowerPoint

Support for Office 2003 has ended

Symptoms
When you click Set Up Show on the Slide Show menu, the Projector Wizard is not listed in the Set Up Show dialog box.

Note To view the Set Up Show dialog box in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 or PowerPoint 2010, click the Slide Show tab, and then click Set Up Slide Show in the Set Up group.
Cause
The Projector Wizard is a Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 feature that is no longer available in later versions of Microsoft PowerPoint.
Workaround
Change the resolution for the Slide Show to be compatible with whatever projector is being used. To do this, follow the steps below as appropriate for the version of PowerPoint that you are using:
  • In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010, follow these steps:
    1. Click the Slide Show tab.
    2. In the Monitors group, click the drop next to Resolution.
    3. Select the appropriate resolution for your projector in the box.

      Note If the only choice in the Slide show resolution box is Use Current Resolution, your display is set to a resolution of 640x480 pixels. For more choices, you must increase your screen resolution in Windows. To do this, right-click the desktop, and then click Screen Resolution (Windows 7), Personalize (Windows Vista), or Properties (Windows XP).
  • In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, follow the steps above, or follow these steps:
    1. Click the Slide Show tab.
    2. Click Set Up Slide Show in the Set Up group.
    3. Under Performance, click the appropriate resolution for your projector in the Slide show resolution box.

      Note If the only choice in the Slide show resolution box is Use Current Resolution, your display is set to a resolution of 640x480 pixels. For more choices, you must increase your screen resolution in Windows. To do this, right-click the desktop, and then click Screen Resolution (Windows 7), Personalize (Windows Vista), or Properties (Windows XP).
    4. Click OK.
  • In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2002 and in PowerPoint 2003, follow these steps:
    1. On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
    2. Under Performance, click the appropriate resolution for your projector in the Slide show resolution box.

      Note If the only choice in the Slide show resolution box is Use Current Resolution, your display is set to a resolution of 640x480 pixels. For more choices, you must increase your screen resolution in Windows. To do this, right-click the desktop, and then click Screen Resolution (Windows 7), Personalize (Windows Vista), or Properties (Windows XP).
    3. Click OK.
