Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You set the MaxEndPointsPerUser parameter to 1 in a Microsoft Lync Server 2013 environment. For example, you run the following command in Lync Server Management Shell:Set-CsRegistrarConfiguration -Identity global -MaxEndpointsPerUser 1

  • A user tries to sign in to a Lync mobile client in the environment.

In this situation, the user cannot sign in to the client.

Note The user does not sign in to other clients for Lync when the user tries to sign in to the Lync mobile client.

Cause

This issue occurs because the maximum number of endpoint for mobile client is 0 when the total number of client is set to 1.

Note The maximum number of mobile client for a user is the integer value of half of the total number of client for the user in Lync Server 2013.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:

2905042 Description of the cumulative update 5.0.8308.577 for Lync Server 2013, Web Components: January 2014
