When you run the Dcdiag.exe tool, you may receive an error message similar to:
Starting test: Connectivity * Active Directory LDAP Services Check The host ') could not be resolved to a valid IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc. ......................... hostname failed test Connectivity
Note that "')" is displayed instead of a host name. Other ASCII characters besides "')" (for example, "†%") may also be displayed instead of the host name.
This issue occurs because the variable for the server name is not properly sent to the output device.
