This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
When you use a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), when you right-click an empty space on the desktop, and then click Line Up Icons, the icons on the desktop are aligned. In Microsoft Windows XP, this functionality has been moved and renamed.
To line up the icons on your desktop when you use a computer that is running Windows XP:
- Right-click an empty space on the desktop.
- Click Arrange Icons By, and then click Align to Grid.
