Symptoms
When you export a report to a .pdf file in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Service (SSRS 2012), you receive the following error message:
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError)
Additionally you receive the following error message in SSRS log:
library!ReportServer_0-12!10c4!<Date><Time>:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details., ScalableList: Index XX outside the allowed range [0::6];
Info: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details.
Resolution
This issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2012 SP2 /en-us/help/3002049
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
