To send form results to an e-mail host, the FrontPage Server Extensions require a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server. FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions do not support any other form of e-mail server software.
To send e-mail from IIS to an e-mail transport, configure the FrontPage Server Extensions in the IIS Management Console on the Microsoft Windows NT or Microsoft Windows 2000 server that is running IIS. Use the appropriate method for your situation.
To Configure Settings for an Individual Virtual Server
Start Internet Services Manager. To do this, follow the steps for your version of IIS:
For IIS 5.0:
On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, and then click Administrative Tools.
Click Internet Services Manager.
For IIS 4.0:
On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, and then click Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack.
Click Microsoft Internet Information Server.
Click Internet Service Manager.
Right-click the virtual server.
Click the Server Extensions 2002 tab.
On the Change Configuration Settings Web page, go to the Mail Settings section and then perform the following steps:
In the SMTP mail server box, type the name of the SMTP mail server you want to use.
In the From address box, type the address you want to use as the From address for the SMTP server.
In the Reply-to address box, type the address you want to use when a visitor to your site replies to an e-mail message.
