XADM: Information Store Stops Responding When a User Attempts to Create an Appointment with Outlook Web Access

The information store (Store.exe) may stop responding. If Dr. Watson is enabled and symbols are installed, the stack of the failing thread is similar to the following:

This problem can occur if a Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) user creates and attempts to save an appointment, because the information store does not always check for a lack of an attendee address.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
