MAC address is not provided in the LIS request in Lync for Mac 2011 that supports Enhanced 911

Symptoms
This issue occurs when the MAC address is not sent in the GetLocationsRequestSOAP Location Information Service (LIS) request in a Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 client. The location request resembles the following:
TL_INFO(TF_COMPONENT) [0]361C.1470::Time/Date
(LocationInformationService,LIService.BeginGetLocations:liservice.svc.cs(48))[849008501]
GetLocationsRequest:[<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
<GetLocationsRequest xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<Entity>sip address</Entity>
<RSSI>0</RSSI>
<SubnetID>Subnet address</SubnetID>
<IP>IP address</IP>
</GetLocationsRequest>]
However, the location request works fine in a Lync client in Windows operating system. It resembles the following:
TL_INFO(TF_COMPONENT) [4]361C.8464::Time/Date
(LocationInformationService,LIService.BeginGetLocations:liservice.svc.cs(48))[1217352235]
GetLocationsRequest:[<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
<GetLocationsRequest xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<Entity>sip address</Entity>
<RSSI>0</RSSI>
<MAC>MAC address</MAC>
<SubnetID>Subnet address</SubnetID>
<IP>IP address</IP>
</GetLocationsRequest>]
Resolution
To resolve this issue, install the update for Lync for Mac 2011 14.1.1.
