What is the cloud performance requirement?

Summary
To obtain one of the four cloud performance competencies, partners are required to meet the cloud sales performance requirement.

Cloud Customer Relationship Management


The Cloud Customer Relationship Management competency is for individuals and organizations who deploy cloud customer relationship management solutions. You can go to the Cloud Customer Relationship Management competency page to learn more about the competency and to view the full list of requirements.


Cloud performance requirement:

To earn the Silver or Gold Cloud Customer Relationship Management competency, you must have deployed a minimum number of seats of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing, Microsoft Social Engagement, or Parature within the last 12 months. See the table below for specific amounts.

450 seats (225 in developing markets)


Additional rules and notes:

  • You must be designated as the Partner of Record (POR) to be credited with the sales
  • Sales must be sold and assigned within the previous 12 months
  • Customers are counted based on Tenant ID
  • Only certain products can be counted towards the performance goal requirement. View the full list of qualifying products here.
  • Trial and free subscriptions do not qualify
  • This competency has a lower sales performance goal for developing and emerging markets

The relevant sales data is reported on your Online Services Partner Dashboard and is automatically delivered to the Partner Membership Center within one hour.

You can view the status of the requirement in the Partner Membership Center by following these steps:
  1. On the Competency Summarypage, expand the Cloud Customer Relationship Managementsection.
  2. Under Cloud Performance Requirement, refer to the status displayed:
    • Actual total number of seats sold / the required total number
A green checkmark to the left of the requirement indicates that it has been met.



Cloud Platform competency


The Cloud Platform competency is for individuals and organizations that deliver infrastructure and software as a service (SaaS) solutions on Microsoft Azure. To learn more and to see the full list of requirements, refer to the Cloud Platform competency page.


Cloud performance requirement:

To earn the Silver or Gold Cloud Platform competency, you must demonstrate Microsoft Azure customer consumption and/or Azure partner Enterprise Agreement consumption within the previous 12 months. Cloud Productivity competency


The Cloud Productivity competency is for individuals and organizations that deploy Microsoft Office 365 solutions for enterprise customers. Learn more about the competency and view the full list of requirements on the Cloud Productivity competency page.


Cloud performance requirement:

To earn the Silver or Gold Cloud Productivity competency, you must have deployed a minimum number of assigned seats of Exchange Online within the last 12 months. Office 365 seats must be paid licenses to count towards seat requirements. Trial or free seats of Office 365 are not applicable. See the table below for specific amounts.

1,500 assigned seats (500 seats in developing markets)

Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions competency


The Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions competency is for individuals and organizations that sell Office 365 to small and midmarket business customers. To learn more about the competency and see the full list of requirements, go to the Small and Midmarket Cloud Solution competency page.


Cloud performance requirement:

To earn the Silver or Gold Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions competency, you must have sold a minimum number of seats of Microsoft Office 365 within the previous 12 months. A certain number of those seats must be sold to new customers. See the table below for specific amounts.

150 seats with at least 10 new customers
300 seats with at least 30 new customers


Additional rules and notes:
  • You must be designated as the Partner of Record (POR) to be credited with the sales
  • Sales must be sold and assigned within the previous 12 months
  • Customers are counted based on Tenant ID
  • Qualifying products are limited to specific Office 365 products/SKUs. You can view the list of qualifying products here.
  • Trial and free subscriptions do not qualify
  • This competency does not have a lower sales performance goal for developing and emerging markets

  2. Under Cloud Performance Requirement, refer to the two statuses displayed:
    • Actual total number of seats sold / the required total number
    • Number of total seats that were sold to new customers / required number of new customers

Please note that both requirements must be met. A green checkmark to the left of the requirement indicates that it has been met.
