Can't use a DSN from an earlier version of Excel for Mac
In Microsoft Excel for Mac for Office 365, ODBC connections for local databases do not work correctly if the data source name (DSN) was created in an earlier version of Excel for Mac. (This issue occurs regardless of the driver. In earlier versions, the database does not have to be in a Sandbox-accessible folder.)
This issue occurs when the DSN points to a local data source in a location where the ODBC Manager does not have permission to access. This includes your Documents folder.
To work around the issue, create a new DSN or connection to the data source. You must also move the data source to a location where the ODBC manager can access it. Here's an example of an accessible folder:
Users/<your user_name>/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/DataNote Any subfolder of this directory will also work, as will the /Library folder or a /Library subfolder. By default, the /Library folder and its subfolders are readable to all sandbox applications.
