FIX: PowerPivot for SharePoint doesn't run automatic data refresh on the first day of each month

Assume that you use PowerPivot for SharePoint on a SharePoint 2010 server, and the SQL Server version is Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2014. When you schedule automatic data refresh to run on the first day of each month in your workbook, the refresh fails, and you receive the following error message in the Unified Logging Service (ULS) log:
EXCEPTION: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration.DataRefreshException: The data refresh job failed because it did not run within the time period allotted for running this schedule.

Additionally, the next updates that occur every 2 minutes also fail.
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server: Recommendation: Install the latest cumulative update for SQL Server
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
