Summary

This Support Diagnostics Platform (SDP) diagnostic collects registry information and files that are generated by Microsoft Office programs to help troubleshoot common authentication support issues.

This diagnostic can be used on the following versions of Windows:

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 7

Information that is collected

Note All file names in the data collection are prefaced by using the name of the computer on which the Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool is run. In the following table, the placeholder {Computername} represents the name of the computer.

Credentials cache {Computername}_credcache.txt
Compressed and encrypted Fiddler Trace .saz file {Computername}_fiddler.zip
Settings for the Windows Store apps (for Office). The data is retrieved from one or more files stored under the following folder(s): C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Office.* {Computername}_Microsoft.Office.*.RegKeyLogsData[_simple].txt
Export of the following registry key (original) in .reg and .txt format:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office{Office version}.0\Common\Identity {Computername}_officecommonidentity_Before.reg {Computername}_officecommonidentity_Before.txt
