Windows Vista
  1. Go to StartStart Button, and then select Search.
  2. Select Advanced Search.
  3. In the Location box, select Local Hard Drives.
  4. In the Name box, enter Outlfltr.dat, and then select Search.
  5. In the list of files, press and hold (or right-click) Outlfltr.dat, and then select Properties.
  6. On the General tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that's installed on the computer.
Windows XP
  1. Start Search Companion. To do this, go to Start, and then select Search.

    Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, select Click here to use Search Companion.
  2. In the Search Results window, select All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
  3. In the All or part of the file name box, enter Outlfltr.dat, and then select Search.
  4. In the list of files, press and hold (or right-click) Outlfltr.dat, and then select Properties.
  5. On the General tab and on the Version tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that's installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update

  1. Go to Start, and then select Run.
  2. Enter Appwiz.cpl, and then select OK.
  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you're running:
    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista
      1. Select View installed updates.
      2. In the list of updates, select update KB3101557, and then select Uninstall.
    • Windows XP
      1. Select the Show updates check box.
      2. In the list of updates, select update KB3101557, and then select Remove.
