"An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received" error when you configure a Microsoft Intune subscription

Symptoms
When you configure the Microsoft Intune connector in System Center Configuration Manager, you may receive the following error message when you enter the Intune subscription credentials:

System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException
An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail.

Cause
This issue may occur when you use Configuration Manager versions earlier than Cumulative Update 3 for System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Service Pack 1 (ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU3).
Resolution
If you use Configuration Manager versions earlier than Cumulative Update 3 for System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Service Pack 1 (ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU3), install the following update and then restart and try setting up Unified Management again.
