When you select contact records or categories in the Query Options dialog box in the Data Merge Manager, and then you select either the Complete record view or the Categories view in the List recipients by list box, your selections are reset to the default setting of all contact records, and therefore all categories are selected as well.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
