Apps Backup no longer functions when you use Azure Active Directory join to configure the primary account on a Windows 10 Mobile TH2 telephone

Summary
When you use Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) join to set the Org ID as the primary account on a Windows 10 Mobile Threshold 2 (TH2) telephone, Apps Backup no longer functions.

Notes
  • If you add a managed service account (MSA) as a secondary account on the Windows 10 Mobile TH2 telephone, Apps Backup continues not to function.
  • For Org ID to be the primary account on a Windows 10 Mobile TH2 telephone, Azure AD join must be performed at the Windows 10 Mobile TH2 Out of Box Experience (OOBE) screen.
  • If an app has built-in Apps Backup capability that isn't dependent on an MSA, that capability functions as expected.
  • On a telephone on which Azure AD join was used to add an Org ID and on which an MSA was added as the secondary account, this behavior occurs because there is no support in Microsoft Azure for Windows 10 Mobile TH2 Apps Backup together with Azure AD Org ID. And, App Backup capability is associated with the primary identity on the telephone on which the primary account is the Org ID.
Workaround
To work around this issue, use the MSA as the primary account on the telephone.
