Work Order and Work Order Schedule Statuses and Sub-Statuses
Both Work Orders and Work Order Schedules have Statuses and Sub-Statuses. The Statuses are predefined in the system and Sub-Statuses are configurable by the user.
Work Order Status:
Out of the box FieldOne Sky has 5 Work Order Statuses
- Open - Unscheduled
- Open - Scheduled
- Open - In Progress
- Open - Completed
- Closed - Posted
- Closed - Cancelled
When a Work Order is created it is given a Work Order Status of Open - Unscheduled.
When a Work Order is scheduled (via any Scheduling Method) a new record related to the Work Order called a Work Order Schedule is created. When a Work Order Schedule is created the status of the related Work Order (Work Order Status) is automatically changed to Open - Scheduled.
**Note: A Work Order can have numerous Work Order Schedules**
Work Order Schedule Status:
Out of the box FieldOne Sky has 5 Work Order Schedule Statuses
- In Progress
- On Break
Work Order Schedule Statuses are typically manipulated by Field Agents on the mobile app out in the field. Some Work Order Schedule Statuses will automatically change the Work Order Status.
When the Work Order Schedule Status is changed to Traveling or In Progress the Work Order Status will automatically change to Open - In Progress, but not vice versa.
When the Work Order Schedule Status is changed to Completed the Work Order Status will automatically change to Open - Completed.
Canceling a Work Order Schedule (changing the status to Canceled) will not change the status of the related Work Order to Closed - Cancelled. Canceling a Work Order Schedule will revert the Work Order Status back to Open - Unscheduled because there will no longer be any associated Work Order Schedules.
When a Work Order has Numerous Work Order Schedules...
The Work Order Schedule Status of one Work Order Schedule will change the Work Order Status except when the Work Order Schedule Status is changed to Completed.
When a Work Order Schedule Status is changed to Completed, the Work Order Status will be based on the other incomplete Work Order Schedules. This means a Work Order Status will not be changed to Open - Completed until all associated Work Order Schedules have a status of Completed.
A Sub status is used to add more detail and visibility to each Status.
To create either a Work Order Sub-Status or Work Order Schedule Sub-Status:
- Navigate to FieldOne Sky Administration Panel
- Choose either Work Order Sub-Status or Work Order Schedule Sub-Status
- Assign Name
- Assign Sub Status to Status
- Choose whether you want new Sub-Status to be default Sub-Status for related Status
- Save and Close
