Expired OOF messages are sent after a mailbox is moved to Exchange Server 2013
Consider the following scenario:
- A user has a mailbox that's located on a server that's running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
- This user enables Automatic Replies ("Out of Office" notifications) in Outlook or Outlook Web Access (OWA).
- The user schedules Automatic Replies for a set date range.
- The user’s mailbox is moved to Exchange 2013 within the scheduled date range for the automatic replies.
This issue occurs because some properties that are used by Automatic Replies for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 aren't populated when the mailbox is located on an Exchange 2007 server.
To work around this issue, manually disable Automatic Replies after the mailbox is moved. Then, re-enable Automatic Replies and reset the schedule, as appropriate.
