This article describes how to configure printer settings such as page separators and print notifications. You configure some of these settings in the printer's property, and others in the server's properties. A member of the Administrators group on a computer that runs Windows 2000 Advanced Server will perform these procedures.
When you configure a printer's properties, note that different printers have different options. This article describes only how to configure generic settings that are available with most printers.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
Right-click the printer, and then click Properties.
To set page separator properties, on the Advanced tab, click Separator Page.
To add a separator page, type the path to the file that will be used as the separator page in the Separator page box, and then click OK. To delete the separator page, delete the entry in the Separator page box, and then click OK.
To configure the print processor, on the Advanced tab, click Print Processor.
In the Default datatype box, click the processor type for your configuration, and then click OK.
To add additional drivers, on the Sharing tab, click Additional Drivers.
Under Environment, click the driver that you want to add, and then click OK.
To modify user access, on the Security tab, click the group or user in the Name box, click either Allow or Deny access in the Permissions box, and then click OK.
